National Defence Academy (NDA 2016) is an national level entrance exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruiting candidates to the Indian Defence forces that includes Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.  The candidates who want to join Indian defence forces as an officer than this is the best opportunity for them. The NDA exam is conducted twice in a year i.e. NDA (I) on 17th April, 2016 and NDA (II) on 18th September 2016.  NDA 2016 exam is one of the important exams for the candidates who are passionate about joining Indian Army, Indian Airforce and Indian Naval Academy. NDA Admit Card 2016Application:

The candidates who are waiting for the NDA 2016 application form are informed that the application form for the NDA I exam has been released from 2nd January 2016 till 29th January 2016, and for the NDA (II) the notification will be released on 18th June, 2016.  The NDA I exam is held on 17th April, 2016 and the NDA II exam is held on 18th September 2016. Eligibility Criteria
The candidates who are appearing for the NDA exam 2016 are advised to check all the details of the exam including the eligibility criteria. The details of the eligibility criteria is mentioned below:
Nationality:
The candidates must be a:
  • a citizen of India , or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came to India before the 01 January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  • Only unmarried candidates are allowed to write the NDA exam 2016.
Age:
(For NDA I 2016):
The candidates not born before 2nd July 1997 and not later than 1st July 2000 are eligible.
(For NDA II 2016):
The candidates not born before 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st July 2001 are eligible.
Educational Qualifications:
For Indian Army wing of National Defence Academy: The candidates appearing for the exam must have passed or appearing class 12th from recognized board or university.
For Air force and Indian Navy: The candidates must have passed or appearing class 12th with physics and Mathematics from a recognized board or university.

Exam Pattern

The NDA exam consist of two papers: Mathematics and General ability test, below we have discussed both the papers in details.
Mathematics: The mathematics paper is of 300 marks and consist of multiple choice questions based on the syllabus of class 10th and 11th. The time allowed to write the paper is 2.5 hr.
General Ability: The General Ability test comprises of two section i.e. Section A and Section B. The section A is of English (200 marks) and Section B (400 marks) is of general knowledge.
The NDA 2016 admit card will be announced few weeks prior to the examination, in the official website of UPSC.
All the question are MCQ type and contain a negative marking for the wrong answers.

Selection Process:

The candidates are selected on the basis of their score in the written test followed by the SSB interview which generally last for 4-5 days. The candidates who successfully qualify the written exam are called for the SSB interview and after clearing all the rounds in the interview, the final merit list is prepared and the selection is done after the medical process and document verification.

Result

The NDA result 2016 is declared one month after the examination, the candidates can check their result from the official website of UPSC. All the information regarding NDA I and NDA II result will be updated in the official website of UPSC.
