Sub-Inspector in CPOs :
The post carries pay scale of s 9300-34800 in Pay Band 2 with Grade Pay of s 4200 and is classified as Group `B’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.
Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF:
The post carries pay scale of s 5200-20200 in PB-2 with Grade Pay of s 2800 and is classified as Group `C’.
Intelligence Officers in NCB :
The post carries pay scale of s 9300-34800 in Pay Band 2 with Grade Pay of s 4600 and is classified as Group `B’ (Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial).

SI-Eligibility

Eligibility for SSC-Sub Inspector positions
Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either:
  1. a citizen of India, or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ( Formerly
  6. Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
  7. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to the Examination provisionally but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him by the Government of India.

Age Limit
AGE LIMIT for the post of Sub-Inspector in CPOs and Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF; 20-25 years as on the normal closing date for receipt of application.  
Age Limit for the post of Intelligence Officer in NCB is 20-27  as on the normal closing date for receipt of application.  

Note I: The upper age limit is relaxable for Central Government Civilian Employees
Note II: The age-limit is reckoned with reference to the Closing Date for receipt of applications
Note III: Candidates should note that the Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or an equivalent certificate only available on the closing date of submission of application is accepted by the Commission for determining the age eligibility.  No subsequent request for its change is considered or granted.

NOTE-I: Ex-servicemen who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts on regular basis after availing of the benefits of reservation given to ex-servicemen for their re-employment are NOT eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under EXS category. However, they are eligible for age relaxation.
NOTE-II: The period of "Call up Service" of an Ex-Serviceman in the Armed Forces shall also be treated as service rendered in the Armed Forces for purpose of age relaxation.
NOTE-III: For any serviceman of the three Armed Forces of the Union to be treated as Ex-
Serviceman for the purpose of securing the benefits of reservation, he must have already acquired, at the relevant time of submitting his application for the Post / Service, the status of ex-serviceman and /or is in a position to establish his acquired entitlement by documentary evidence from the competent authority that he would complete specified term of engagement from the Armed Forces within the stipulated period of one year from the CLOSING DATE  
NOTE- IV: AGE CONCESSION IS NOT ADMISSIBLE TO SONS, DAUGHTERS AND DEPENDENTS OF EX-SERVICEMEN
NOTE – V: A Matriculate Ex-Serviceman (which term includes an Ex-Serviceman, who has obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of education or corresponding certificate in the Navy or the Air Force), who has put in not less than 15 years of service as on closing date with Armed Forces of the Union shall be considered eligible for appointment to the posts being advertised through this examination. Thus, those Non-Graduate Ex-Servicemen who have not completed 15 years of service as on the last date for receipt of applications are not eligible.

SI-Physical Standards

Physical Standards for SSC- Sub Inspector
Physical endurance test (pet) is mandatory. Physical endurance test does not carry any marks but will be of qualifying/elimination nature.
NOTE -I: Candidates will have to undergo PET MEDICAL Examination.
NOTE-II: Only those candidates who secure qualifying marks in Paper I of the written examination, as may be fixed by the Commission at their discretion, and also clear Eligibility and Physical Endurance Test (PET) and medical test, will be called for the Personality Test / Interview based on their combined performance in Paper I and II of the written examination.

Medical Standard :
1. Eye sight:
For the posts of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector
The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.
For the posts of Intelligence Officers in NCB.
The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes with or without wearing of glasses.
2. The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyesand they should possess high colour vision for the post of Sub-Inspector and Assistant Sub-Inspector.
The candidate must not have knock knees, flat foot, bow legs, varicose vein, squint in eye, any loss of part of body and they should posses high color vision for the post of Intelligence Officers in NCB.
3. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Paper -I
A. General Intelligence & Reasoning: It would include questions of both verbal and non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc. The topics are, Semantic Analogy, Symbolic/Number Analogy, Figural Analogy, Semantic Classification, Symbolic/Number Classification, Figural Classification, Semantic Series, Number Series, Figural Series, Problem Solving, Word Building, Coding & de-coding, Numerical Operations, symbolic Operations, Trends, Space Orientation, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, Drawing inferences, Punched hole/pattern –folding & un-folding, Figural Pattern – folding and completion, Indexing, Address matching, Date & city matching, Classification of centre codes/roll numbers, Small & Capital letters/numbers coding, decoding and classification, Embedded Figures, Critical thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Social Intelligence, Other sub-topics, if any.
B. General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy & Scientific Research.
C. Numerical Aptitude: The questions will be designed to test the ability of appropriate use of numbers and number sense of the candidate. The scope of the test will be computation of whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage. Ratio & Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Alligation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra & Elementary surds, Graphs of Linear Equations, Triangle and its various kinds of centres, Congruence and similarity of triangles, Circle and its chords, tangents, angles subtended by chords of a circle, common tangents to two or more circles, Triangle, Quadrilaterals, Regular Polygons , Circle, Right Prism, Right Circular Cone, Right Circular Cylinder, Sphere, Hemispheres, Rectangular Parallelepiped, Regular Right Pyramid with triangular or square base, Trigonometric ratio, Degree and Radian Measures, Standard Identities, Complementary angles, Heights and Distances, Histogram, Frequency polygon, Bar diagram & Pie chart.
D. English Comprehension: Candidates’ ability to understand correct English, his basic comprehension and writing ability, etc. would be tested. (The question in components C&D will be of matriculation/10th Standard.

English Language & Comprehension: Questions in this components will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, filling in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, comprehension etc. (The standard of the questions will be Higher Secondary 10+2 level)

About Exam:
Commission conducts All India Examination for recruitment to the post if sub inspectors in Central Police Organizations (CPOs), Assistant Sub-Inspectors in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Intelligence Officers in Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Educational Qualification:
Graduation from a recognised University or equivalent.
Examination:
The examination comprise of Written Objective Type (Multiple Choice) followed by Physical Endurance Test (PET), Medical Examination and Interview/Personality test.
Fee:
Rupees One Hundred Only (Rs.100/-) payable through CRF Stamp for offline application or SBI Challan or on-line payment through State Bank of India for online application. All Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are also exempted from Fee as per rules.

The questions would also be based on arithmetical concepts and relationship between numbers and not on complicated arithmetical computation.
D. English Comprehension: Candidate’s ability to understand correct English, basic comprehension and writing ability is tested. (The question in components C&D will be of Higher Secondary (10+2) level).
Paper-II
English Language & Comprehension: Questions here are designed to test the candidate understands and knowledge of English Language which will be based on error recognition;

NOTE - 1: The Commission have the discretion to fix different minimum qualifying standards in each part of Paper I taking into consideration among others, category-wise vacancies and category-wise number of candidates. Candidates qualifying in Paper-I would be required to appear in the Physical Endurance Test/Medical examination. .
