West Bengal Police Recruitment for 659 Constable Posts 2016; Apply by 11 April
West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB), West Bengal Police notified recruitment for 659 Posts of Constable. The last date for submission of application form is 11 April 2016; submission of application was commenced from 10 March 2016.
Candidates who are 08th class pass from a recognized institution and residing permanently in LWE affected areas in the Districts of Paschim Medinipore (including Jhargram Police District), Bankura and Purulia are eligible to apply for Constable Post in West Bengal Police. The age bar is between 18-27 years, which is relaxable as per categories. Hence, all the interested and eligible candidates can apply to the post through the prescribed format along with necessary documents on or before 11 April 2016.
Selection of the candidates will be merit-based. Candidates will be selected on the basis of interview/ exam/ medical examination/ document verification, which would be conducted by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board (WBPRB).
The West Bengal Police is one of the two police forces of the Indian state of West Bengal. The other is the Kolkata Police, which has a separate jurisdiction. The West Bengal Police was reorganized under provisions of the Police Act 1861 during the British Raj. It is headed by an officer designated as the Director General of Police who reports to the State Government through the Home (Police) Department.
