Age Limit
In order to join the Naval Apprenticeship programme, candidates need to stratify a basic age limit criteria. The age criteria is announced in the official Naval Apprenticeship programme notification, in which different age limits are specified for different category of candidates and trades. A general breakup of the same is given below:
Category - Age Group
General Category Candidates - 14 to 21 Years
SC Category Candidates - 14 to 26 Years (5-year relaxation)
ST Category Candidates - 14 to 26 Years (5-year relaxation)
Children of Ex-servicemen - 2 years of upper age limit relaxation / 14 to 23 for General Category / 14 to 27 for SC category.
Generally, the aforementioned age limits are often notified by the Indian Navy in terms of dates; therefore, candidates are advised to refer the official notification document in order to confirm the eligible age limit.
Educational Qualifications
Candidates interested in joining the Indian Navy apprenticeship course need to satisfy the following educational qualifications in order to be eligible for the training programme.
Matriculation: Candidate must have cleared Class X/10/Matriculation examination with minimum aggregate of 50% marks in all subjects
ITI: Candidate should also have completed ITI training in the respective trade with minimum 65% aggregate marks. The ITI degree should be awarded by an institute approved by National Council for Vocational Training.
Physical Standards
Apart from Age and educational qualification criteria, candidates also have to meet prescribed physical standards in order to be eligible for the apprenticeship programme.
Minimum Height: 137 cm
Minimum Weight: 25.4 Kg
