NDA Exam I 2016: How to crack SSB
The candidates who will be selected in NDA (I) & NDA (II) written exams are invited for Psychological Aptitude Test & Intelligence or Personality test conducted by Service Selection Board (SSB). In this article, we will guide you to crack the SSB.
Service Selection Board (SSB): SSB means Service Selection Board. It is set by the ministry of Defense for the recruitment of officers to the Tri Forces such as Army, Navy and Air force. The Selection Board consists of senior officers from defense forces usually in the rank of major, colonel, Lt Colonel. The board consists of psychologists, GTO to check the candidate’s ability for defense forces. The aim of the Board is to find the right candidate with certain qualities called Officer like Qualities OLQ’s. The centers are located in four geographical regions of our country such as Selection Centre East, Selection Centre South, and Selection Centre Central.
Schedule at SSB: The schedule consists of five days; the candidates have to report one day earlier by afternoon before the first day of the process. In the afternoon/evening, they are briefed on the detailed schedule of the next five days, code of conduct and are briefed on the detailed schedule of the next five days about the code of conduct. Then they are required to complete the documentation including verification of required certificates for age/educational qualification. This day is called the arrival day.
Every year Lakhs of candidates appear for this examination and only a few are selected which depends on their performance in SSB some candidates are chucked out on the very first day of SSB so to clear it and to have officer’s like qualities is not an easy task but not impossible also. PICTURE PERCEPTION:
In this a slide (hazy or clear) is shown for 30 seconds, the candidate has to observe it very carefully and in the next one minute he/she has to mark number of characters seen in the picture in a box made in the sheet provided to them and the main theme of their story and they have to write it down.

PICTURE DESCRIPTION: The candidates are given their sheets back to revise their stories and are told to sit in semicircular for a Group Discussion. First each candidate will narrate his/her story in one minute without looking at sheets and then a group will make a common story for the same.

IV) Group Obstacle Race.

• Closing addresses by the deputy president of the board.
